Kota girl Shritama still misses her hometown

Television actress Shritama Mukherjee, who hails from Kota in Rajasthan, moved to Mumbai a few years ago to chase her dream to become an actor. But she still misses her hometown Kota, where she was born and brought up.
“Mumbai has given me the freedom to explore my identity as a human being. When I was in Kota, I never had to worry about my electricity bills or running a home. In fact, life was completely carefree and stress free,” says Shritama. Though her parents are still in Kota, she hardly gets to visit them. “Since working for the small screen is really hectic, one cannot manage to travel every now and then. So, in my case, it is my parents who come and stay with me whenever they miss me,” she says.
When Shritama abruptly took the decision to quit Ekta Kapoor’s 'Kalash', it triggered speculation about her tussle with the production house as she quit only after two months of her entry in the show as 'Sakshi'. On being asked about the reason behind quitting 'Kalash' and doing a new show with the same production house, she says, “Kalash was my first show with Ekta Kapoor. So when she came with the offer of a new role of 'Koyal' in her upcoming show 'Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darm
